Edmonds’ Prediction on Hastert Comes True

Within a few months after resigning from Congress, it has been reported that former Speaker of the U.S. House Dennis Hastert has taken a position with the lobbying firm Dickstein Shapiro, one of whose key clients is the government of Turkey.

Hastert is well known for his abrupt withdrawal of the Armenian Genocide resolution from the House floor in 2000, just a few hours before it was scheduled to be voted upon.

In a 2005 Vanity Fair article, FBI whistleblower Sibel Edmonds singled out Hastert as having received illicit funds from the Turkish government in return for his services in blocking recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

Indeed, in an April 2007 interview, Edmonds even predicted that Hastert would soon be receiving a lucrative position with an entity working for the Republic of Turkey.

Interestingly enough, her prediction seems to have come true.
